Hello to all Participants!

First, allow us to thank you for sharing in and participating in this very significant event. Your presence and involvement is invaluable to the batizado successes.

Due to the large number of participants that we anticipate, we ask for your patience, flexibility, and assistance in making the 2011 UCA Encounter & Batizado as seamless as possible. As a result, we are earring on the side of efficiency, environmentalism, and community, and requesting that capoeristas take the BART system (the Bay Area's wonderful public transportation system), as a means of transit to and from the airports, instead of car-ferrying. This will provide us with more time and resources to greater accommodate you when you arrive to our new studio, where the festivities really start!

SFO Arrivals:
BART has made it exceptionally easy for travelers flying into the San Francisco International Airport (SFO). BART's final stop is SFO! So, capoeiristas flying into SFO will follow the airport's signs to an airtrain on the airport's second level, which will deposit you right at in the international terminal where BART eagerly awaits to serve you. Please take the Pittsburg (yellow) train. You will need to transfer to the Richmond (orange) train at the 12th Street Oakland, City Center stop, roughly 40 minutes into your ride. Exit at the North Berkeley station.

OAK Arrivals:
For those capoeiristas flying into the Oakland International Airport, you will catch a shuttle bus outside of the airport's baggage claim area, which will connect you to the Richmond (orange) BART train at the Coliseum/Oakland Airport station. The ride is a pleasant 20 minutes to the North Berkeley station, where you will deboard.

So what do I do after I get off BART?
For all capoeiristas taking BART, upon arrival at the North Berkeley station, walk south (to the right) toward Delawer St. Make a right on Delware St and walk about 4 blocks to Curtis St. Make a left on Curtis st and walk for one block to Hearts Ave. Make a right on Hearts Ave and walk for one block. Look out for our capoeira studio on your left hand. We are located at the corner of San Pablo Ave and Hearts Ave. (see map below)

Sounds easy enough?
